Monaco Yacht Show is the keystone yachting event of the luxury sector, bringing together designers, shipyards, brokers, nautical equipment manufacturers and other premium suppliers.
Now in its 28th year, the show will be held from 26 to 29 September 2018 and feature around 120 superyachts on display – 40 are brand-new designs that will have their public debut, as is the case every year. “The Monaco Yacht Show has a worldwide reputation for the exceptional quality of the collection of superyachts on display each year that average close to 50 metres overall. About sixty of the yachts exhibited are less than two years old,” confirms Gaëlle Tallarida, General Manager of Monaco Yacht Show.

Monaco Yacht Show has always strived to be the leading yacht show at the forefront of everyone’s strategy in the Mediterranean, dedicated to exceptional partnerships focused on growth in the superyacht sector. Vital to this is a steady flow of visitors attracted to the impressive yachts in the show and at anchor for viewing.
49.9m MY FLYING DAGGER will be presented at Monaco Yacht Show 2018, joining the list of luxury yachts 40-70 metres in length launched by Rossinavi and with several in production. With an exterior by Venice-based Enrico Gobbi of Team for Design, the robust silhouette of this vessel is marked by sporty lines in a fully aluminium structure. The interiors of the vessel have been designed by Rome-based practice Lazzarini Pickering Architetti.

The master bedroom is a particularly large area of the boat featuring a structural terrace accessible through sliding glass doors. Four spacious external decks across three floors allow for entertaining, dining and relaxing. Along the main deck, a sprawling sundeck features a metallic and woven metal canopy that opens and closes to provide or protect from light.

MY FLYING DAGGER is also the latest research development on noise and vibration reduction; even if this is a water jet boat, the noise and sound propagation performance can be compared with a full displacement one with a top speed up to 31 knots and a cruise speed of 24 knots.
Filippo Ceragioli, Head of Marketing & Communications at Rossinavi, agrees on the importance of Monaco Yacht Show for brand exposure and networking in yachting. “To be in Monaco for the Monaco Yacht Show is similar to having an embassy at the ‘Yacht Business United Nations’. That week is one of the most important of the year for everyone worldwide working in this sector.”
Each year, the show gathers an international network of yachting companies with world-class knowledge and ability for success; it’s important to have exhibitors representing a cross-section of businesses within the industry as every superyacht client is unique.
Future owners accompanied by their captains or representatives are increasingly more closely involved in the building and purchase decisions of their yachts, therefore Monaco Yacht Show has adapted to improve the overall customer experience.

The Sapphire Experience (and its premium version, ‘Infinite’) are aimed at visitors interested in a first charter experience or the purchase of a superyacht. A VIP pack comprises a spectrum of tailor-made activities including entry to the third edition of the Monaco Yacht Summit taking place on September 25th at Le Méridien Beach Plaza Hotel, an invitation to the MYS Gala evening, a tour of the bay of Monaco on board the MYS VIP boat, a courtesy car service, lunch in the Upper Deck Lounge or a personal concierge service to organise private visits to superyachts on display in the show, in direct coordination with the MYS yacht brokers and shipyards.
Exhibition zones extend over almost the whole of Port Hercules with a new themed orientation of the various exhibition areas. Visitors can discover the latest in hi-tech equipment (Darse Sud) or the objects and furnishings presented by prestige luxury goods firms (Parvis Piscine). Quai Jarlan will host part of the display of luxury tenders. Since the Tenders & Toys zone launched last year it has been devoted to yacht tenders and nautical leisure accessories and will this year occupy more space on the Quai Antoine Ier. The Car Deck, an exhibition of prestige vehicles and the Starboard Lounge complete the focus on the superyacht lifestyle on Quai Antoine Ier.
Luke Porter, Commercial Manager at Shipyard Supply Co, the spin-off venture from Superyacht Tenders & Toys (SYTT) will join the exhibitors on Quai Antoine Ier. “Monaco Yacht Show is arguably the highlight of the European yachting season, bringing industry leaders and decision makers together in the home of superyachting. For Shipyard Supply Co, it represents an amazing opportunity to launch our extensive range of quality deck products to the influential people that call the shots at the shipyards, management companies and onboard operational vessels. Each year, the show seems to surpass the previous one, so there really is no better place to launch a new company than in Monaco!”

Continually, Monaco strengthens its position as a superyacht hub and a forward-thinking event that unveils global products and services that challenge design, improve procedures and educate about facets of the superyacht industry from concept to delivery.
Amidst this, compliance merges together with creativity highlighting clever solutions that are giving superyachts an ace card to manage operations – technically, sustainably or economically. Initiatives include marine virtual reality and 3D applications to transform the boatbuilding process or enhance safety training, crew software to cope with worklists, and space-saving systems to efficiently arrange equipment on board.

One such addition is the MARI)(naut vacuum system, a crew-friendly solution which manages and controls marine waste on superyachts, improving the living and working environment for crew and guests. The benefits of implementing systems such as this are tenfold, mirroring the rise in popularity for cruising to remote destinations where waste management can be logistically difficult. Yacht shows bridge the gap to reach more yachts who are keen to do their part tackling the effect that plastic and waste has on the environment.
David Gates, Founder and Owner of Complete Yacht Solutions Ltd & Superyacht Rubbish, says that Monaco Yacht Show is a gateway to catch up with industry leaders and operational crew. “I have been fortunate to attend eighteen or so Monaco Yacht shows over the course of my superyacht career. It is without doubt the meeting place for the entire worldwide superyacht market. With other shows coming up later in the autumn, it’s a great opportunity to meet people you want to talk to, even when you do not expect to. If you are running a business in the superyacht market, you have to be there. Personally, the opportunity to talk to hundreds of operational yacht crew in one place is fantastic!”
Monaco Yacht Show’s philosophy is to reach the new age of superyacht millennials; however the organisers understand that there must be a balance between the luxury and marine industries. Going forward, the superyacht owner or guest at Monaco Yacht Show will always have an exclusive window into the best of yachting lifestyle on land and sea.
